Strangers Again

We all start out as strangers in this world. Then we meet someone with whom we get to share something special. For days, months, perhaps even years that seemed endless, we were in love. Then, as if from a dream, we wake up and find that things have changed, and we are strangers again.

I’d be a fool if I couldn’t see
How things have changed between you and me
Maybe we try just a little too hard
And now we are strangers again

We try hard to bring back what we lost, reaching out to the lips that we once kissed with complete passion and the arms that used to embrace us ever so warmly. Sadly, all we get in return is utter coldness and a smile that tries hard to hide its fakery.

I kiss your lips but they feel so cold
I still remember we used to hold
On those cold and lonely nights we make love
And now we are strangers again

Finally, in desperation, we stared hard into those eyes that once looked at us with wonder and meaning. However, instead of seeing something familiar and beautiful, we are greeted with dismay and aloofness. For before us stands someone we once cared for, but has now become a stranger bearing memories of a forgotten love.

Oh lady, it’s hard to believe
That there in your eyes, stranger I see
And that the only song we got left to play
Are the memories of yesterday

Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that something so beautiful can turn out to be the one that will break us down. If this is what you have realized recently, listen to the message that “Strangers Again” wants to share. Please click here:
