The Gift

Falling in love is a magical feeling. It’s a lot like the tremendous joy that children feel when the first snowflake falls to signal the advent of Christmas.

Winter snow is falling down
Children laughing all around
Lights are turning on
Like a fairy tale come true

When that someone comes into our lives, we feel that heaven has finally answered our prayers. We find ourselves smiling, resting in the thought that a void inside us has now been filled.

Sitting by the fire we made
You’re the answer when I prayed
I would find someone
And baby I found
you.

We stop and stare at the one given to us,admiring his or her face and the things that we’d be willing to do to make this love last forever. Yet, we realize that like everything in life, beauty will fade but we can find comfort in the thought that true love transcends physical attraction.

Watching as you softly sleep
What I’d give if I could keep
Just this moment
If only time stood still

But the colors fade away
And the years will make us grey
But baby in my eyes
You’ll still be beautiful

In the end, we discover the kind of love that knows no limits. The kind that will go beyond what is expected; a love so deep and so true that it can save us and bring us to a better and more beautiful life. For giving us this rare gift, we will be eternally grateful.

All I want is to hold you forever
All I need is you more every day
You saved my heart
From being broken apart
You gave your love away
And I’m thankful every day
For the gift

Miracles can happen and if you have found yourself on your own for a long time, hold on because a gift may just be waiting for you. Listen to Jim Brickman’s “The Gift” and find inspiration. Please click here:

Lifted from the album of the same name, “The Gift” is a song performed by Jim Brickman with Susan Ashton and Collin Raye providing the vocals. The song is the thirteenth track in the 1997 album but was released as the album’s first single.

Several radio stations are known to play “The Gift” when Christmas is near since the opening part has references to the joyous celebration of the season. Other than that, the song is actually a part of Brickman’s album released as a Christmas offering.
