Getting To Know Each Other

The line between friendship and love is often blurry. As we journey through life, we get to meet different people, many of them ending up as our friends while others turn out to become more than that. In between, there are those that we get along quite well but could hardly be classified as more than jusr friends since we have our very own significant other.

I call you and you call me
It’s funny how we get on so easily
We’re just friends aren’t we
You’ve got yours, I’ve got mine
And friends are all we ever could be

We spend time with this person, having lunch with him/her not just once but many times, and often end up burning the phone lines together. Overall, we have an enjoyable time with this someone and usually find ourselves smiling when the day is done.

We have lunch ev’ry now and then
And I find myself humming love songs
Again and again

At night when we’re alone in bed, we would sometimes wonder if this someone also thinks of us. To get our minds off from such thoughts, we try to spend more time at work. Still, we find these endeavours simply hopelesss because we realize that something exciting is beginning to develop.

Too many nights I’m workin’ ’till ten
And I hope that you know
That It’s hopeless to go on when..

Love usually grows after we get to know someone, and when that happens, we’ll find that it’s one love worth holding on to. That’s because the love is founded on something solid and strong – friendship.

We’re getting to know each other
A little too well
We’re starting to show our feelings
And people can tell
Ev’ry time that your eyes meet mine
I light up like a neon sign
Yes, We’re getting to know each other
A little too well
