Not all love stories have happy endings. Once in a while, love will walk out the door but we are the last one to know. All we get are suspicions and nagging feelings.

We begin to question our worth, especially when we realized how the years have changed the way we look. We try to find peace of mind in the love that we thought we still have, but our hearts start beating otherwise.

The fears and the anticipations continue to grow however. Although we keep hoping that we are wrong, we know that we are hardly in control of things, especially our feelings when they become too much to bear. Shedding those unwanted tears unwittingly becomes our last refuge as we see the specter of a painful ending.

More than a decade later, the R&B group Jodeci covered “Lately” which captured fourth place in the Hot 100. The cover version was also awarded gold status by the Recording Industry Association of America after selling 900,000 copies after it was released.
