Lines of a Song Volume 11

When the one you love no longer wants to stay but you still want to hold on, what should you do? Seeing a relationship fall apart is not an easy thing and often, the words you say can either make the situation a little easier to accept or a bit more difficult to face.

It isn’t easy to say goodbye
I try to understand the reason why
My body is shaking
My heart is aching within me

“Your World and My World” — Albert Hammond

Just one thing before you go
Just one thing that you’ve got to know
No one will ever touch me that way
The way that you did that very first day

“Never Be The Same” — Christopher Cross

What can I say besides I’m sorry
What can I say to change your mind
Why do I keep on holding on
A chance you’ll walk back through the door
When my heart knows there’s no hope anymore

“Doors” — Michael Johnson

Albert Hammond sang and recorded “Your World and My World” as the first track from the album of the same title. Released in 1981, the album had another hit song entitled “When I’m Gone”.
