In A Love Song

Have you ever heard a love song that really touched your heart? Since they came into being, love songs have often been known to do that, usually through the words used to create them.

This song by Lee Greenwood is the perfect example. The words used here accurately describes what a love song can do for you.

It can tear you apart
‘Coz a word can break a heart
In a love song.
They say all the things you feel
And they make it sound so real
In a love song

Goodbye is always heart-breaking, but in a love song, the word becomes doubly painful. “In A Love Song” said it most aptly.

Why do people cry
When they hear the word goodbye
In a love song?
Tears are sure to fall
When you know they gave it all
In a love song

Whether you’re looking for that one true love, dealing with the pain of a break-up, or entering into a new relationship, there’s always a love song that tells others how you feel.

Somehow two lovers get a chance
At a beautiful romance
And you wish it could be you

Each of us knows
There’s no guarantee
We’ll ever find love.
And in the songs that we share
The heartache is there
To remind us

New love brings a thrill
And we know it always will
In a love song

Love songs will come and go, but this much is true about them:

There’s a part of you and me
In every memory
That tells us who we are.
And everybody’s needing
What the singers all are singing
In a love song

Can you relate to the message of this song? Listen to Lee Greenwood’s renditon of “In A Love Song” here:

“In A Love Song” is more commonly referred to as “A Love Song” recorded by country singer Kenny Rogers in 1982. The song, however, was written by Lee Greenwood who originally recorded it as part of his album Inside Out.

Kenny’s version went to number one in Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart. Personally, though, I prefer Lee Greenwood’s rendition as it had a lonelier approach which effectively complemented the message of the song.
