Water Runs Dry

Over a week ago, my wife and I had a major argument and she blurted out that her love for me is fading.

I was taken aback for this was the first time she ever said this. We have kissed and made up since then, but her words kept ringing in my ears.

As with many things in my life, I sought comfort with God and in music. With the latter, I came upon this song, “Water Runs Dry” and found it most appropriate.

We don’t even talk anymore
And we don’t even know what we argue about
Don’t even say I love you no more
‘Cause saying how we feel is no longer allowed

This is where we stand presently. Yes, we are at peace but the pain lingers and we try to deny it.

Now, they can see the tears in our eyes, yeah
But we deny the pain that lies
Deep in our hearts
Well maybe that’s a pain we can’t hide
‘Cause everybody knows that we’re both torn apart

In my heart, I pray that her love, like water, will not run dry. If ir does, it might turn out to be the biggest mistake we’ll ever make.

Let’s not wait till the water runs dry
We might watch our whole lives pass us by
Let’s not wait till the water runs dry
We’ll make the biggest mistake of our lives
Don’t do it, baby
